POW Health Network Hires New Executive Director

A lifelong resident of Alaska who grew up in the rural areas of Southeast, Klein understands the many issues that face residents of rural Alaska. Klein received a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University in Commercial Recreation, Park & Tourism Management with an emphasis in Business. She has worked for the last 25 years in a variety of roles that have included the tourism industry, healthcare industry, and developing regional programs with the Association of Education of Young Children, Ketchikan Youth Court, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters Alaska. Klein enjoys developing sustainable community-based programs and initiatives, and working with a wide array of agencies, businesses and community stakeholders. Klein has enjoyed membership in the local Ketchikan Lions Club, Arts Council, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Running Clubs and Delta Kappa Gamma. Having recently relocated to Prince of Wales Island from Ketchikan, Klein said she now looks forward to being an active member of the Prince of Wales community and participating in the arts, running and walking club events, hiking, and gardening opportunities. Klein said she is enjoying being on Prince of Wales Island in her new role as Network Director, and looks forward to leading the Network in continuation of the collaboration that Network members began in 2008.
