Editor Sitnews:
In these glory days of political correctness the opportunity to poke fun at the absurdly displayed lack of common sense is over whelming. Take the latest waste of stupid.
Changing the name of the National League Football team the Washington Redskins . With all the true troubles, needing requiring solutions of our supposable best brains, this is a leading challenge to the liberal crowd bent on changing the world.
Why not play along with this absurdness with the following segment lifted from a purported letter to noted columnist Clarence Page. In rebuttal to Mr. Page s apparent desire to encourage the name change, Mr. Page being just one of many who have taken on the personal challenge to enforce political correctness. There is no confirmation as to the credibility of the sender yet the content of the post reflects a actuate rebuttal to this single harped on political correctness.
Quote: (Excerpted)
Dear Mr. Page,
Here are some other politically correct corrections to consider: Let s ditch the Kansas City Chiefs, the Atlanta Braves and the Cleveland Indians. If you shorts are in a wad because of the reference the name Redskins makes to skin color, then we need to get rid of the Cleveland Browns. The Carolina Panthers obviously were named to keep the memory of militant Blacks from the 60 s alive should be gone. It s offensive to us white folk.
The New Your Yankees offend the Southern population. Do you see a team named for Confederacy? No! There is no room for any reference to that tragic war that cost this country so many young men' s lives.
I am (the author continues) offended by the latent references to the Catholic religion among or sports team names. Totally inappropriate to have the New Orleans Saints, the Los Angeles Angeles or the San Diego Padres.
Then there are the team names that glorify criminals who raped and pillaged. we are talking about the horrible Oakland Raiders, the Minnesota Vikings, the Tama Bay Buccaneers and the Pittsburg Pirates!
Now, let us address those teams that clearly send the wrong message to our children. The San Diego Chargers promote irresponsible fighting or even poor spending habits. Wrong message to children. The Milwaukee Brewers-----Well that goes without saying Wrong message to our children.
So- There you go. We need to support any legislation that comes out to rectify this travesty, because the government will likely become involved with this issue.
End of quote.
For an older citizen, witnessing this mind control effort by the liberals confirms the continued beat down of intelligent common sense of the population. Tragic.
