July 10, 2004
Saturday

Juneau, Alaska - Upon learning that long-time Alaskan Gordon Jensen of Petersburg passed away Thursday at age 86, Governor Frank H. Murkowski issued the following statement:

"Gordon's contributions to the fishing industry in Alaska are almost too numerous to mention," said Murkowski. "Gordon was a passionate advocate for our fisheries resources, a strong leader and a man of integrity. He was an advocate for sound science and conservation. His contributions benefited Alaska from the time he first was appointed to the Board of Fish and Game after statehood, until the time of his passing. Nancy and I extend our deepest condolences to the Jensen family."
