Open Letter: Withdraw Resignation
By Marly F. Edenso

July 25, 2005
Monday

Distinguished Elders, Tribal Council, Employees and Members,

I sincerely apologize for my abrupt reaction and departure from the Tribal Council meeting on July 18, 2005. I believe the action taken by the four Tribal Council Members, Carrie James, Norman Arriola, Charles Edwardson and Joel Buchanan was not in the best interests of the tribe, the tribal members or the employees. I do not say this lightly nor do I have this opinion because Georgianna Zimmerle is my sister. In my opinion she has done an outstanding job at KIC with very little guidance or direction from the Tribal Council. She did not deserve that kind of treatment and lack of respect.

I have been intimately involved with the growth, progress and success the KIC organization has experienced since August 1993 when I was appointed to fill a vacated Tribal Council seat. Much of the time since then I have either been a KIC Administrative employee or a KIC Tribal Council Member, serving one year as KIC President. There have been many struggles and trials.

I respectfully withdraw my verbal resignation stated at the July 18, 2005 meeting. I will complete my elected term, working to protect the rights and benefits of all KIC Tribal Members, and KIC employees.

Respectfully Submitted,

Marly F. Edenso
