Cuts by Gov. Palin

I live in Hydaburg, Alaska one of the places Governor Palin chose to cut out of the budget. Our school is in dire need of new housing for our teachers. The housing we have now is so old, the trailers are falling down around our teachers. How can our children get a good education without teachers? If the Governor knows anything about Hydaburg she would know there is no housing available for rent, there are families living with families here and the economy is so bad. Our city is in dire straits as well.

We (the school board) fought tooth-and-nail with the city council for the forest receipts and didn't get the entire amount that was slated for the school, so we need dollars to help with the upkeep of our school and teacher housing such as it is.

Governor Palin, please, please reconsider your decision to cut Hydaburg School out of the budget (SB 53 vetoes). Haw'aa.
