Ketchikan Medical Center Names Tonjes Interim Chief Admin. Officer

(SitNews) Ketchikan, Alaska - PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center recently announced that its longtime Chief Financial Officer Ken Tonjes has accepted the role of interim Chief Administrative Officer following the recent resignation of CEO Patrick Branco. Ken Tonjes has served the community as Ketchikan Medical Center CFO for more than 12 years. “We are grateful for his willingness to serve in the capacity as Interim CAO and appreciate the stability he brings,” states Nancy Steiger, CEO and Chief Mission Officer of PeaceHealth Northwest Network, of which Ketchikan Medical Center is part, saying Tonjes brings, ”stability to the relationship with the City of Ketchikan and the ongoing collaborative medical center expansion project, Your Health—Your Future. Tonjes will officially begin as acting CAO on August 12, until which time Branco and Tonjes will work to smoothly transition leadership duties. Ketchikan’s Governing Board has also appointed a search committee to begin looking for a long-term leadership candidate and appointment. “Ketchikan Medical Center is a strong, award-winning organization committed to serving the needs of the great community of Ketchikan,” states Steiger. “I am confident that we will continue to serve in Branco’s legacy of leadership and in the spirit of providing safe, compassionate care; every time, every touch.”
