The Smoker's Tax
By Paul Jarvi
July 22, 2015

To the people drafting language for this Ketchikan tax, social engineering is not why you were elected. Stop this nonsense about a local tobacco tax this product is taxed enough. Governing on an 'us verses them' approach will end badly for everyone.
Good luck. You have a tough job to do to fund your programs but that was why you were elected in the first place. Put your budget and programs together and live with it, don't go after a special group.
I am not a smoker, I am a concerned citizen.
