Editor-Sitnews,
Regarding the tribute to Sol Atkinson, I met Sol during my careers in the early 70's where Metlakatla was involved. Sol must have retired recently to this introduction. He was a standout personality on the first meet without knowing of his military history.
One immediately knew you were dealing with a person of character, honesty, and leadership. When his history became known years later, my respect for Sol increased ten fold. What an honor to have made his acquaintance. I might add he has a wonderful singing voice. A total joy in all respects.
He and his charming wife are truly representative of our neighbors of Metlakatla, a place of good people.
Thanks for publishing this tribute at a time we shall thank all of our past and current serving military folks.
Regards,
A.M. Johnson
