Community Scavenger Hunt begins:
|
“We’ve heard from past teams that this was their highlight of the summer, and we know that the game has something for everyone. It’s a great way to have some fun with family, friends, or even colleagues and because missions are app-based they can be completed at any time so it fits into everyone’s schedule,” shared Romanda Simpson, Executive Director of the Ketchikan Wellness Coalition.
The first Goose Chase was in the summer of 2020, at the height of the pandemic. Since then, it’s become an annual tradition with new missions to complete and new adventures.
The game period is from July 7-19 and teams can join at any point during the game period.
This mission-based scavenger hunt provides opportunities for teams to have some healthy fun while earning points towards winning cash prizes. The goal is to rack up as many points as possible while having fun and even winning some prizes along the way.
There are three CASH grand prizes to be won: $500, $250, $150 and there will be other prize drawings for specific missions, sponsored by local businesses.
Missions take teams to various locations, including their own home, public parks or beaches, and other community sites and include photo, video, or text missions. From answering a riddle about Ketchikan history to dressing up as a dinosaur, teams can utilize a variety of skills while aiming to be the “top goose” and bring home the cash prize!
How to play?
Participants build a team (2-6 people) and register online at the Ketchikan Wellness Coalition website anytime from now until the end of the game. Cost of registration per player is $20 for ages 11 and above (children under 13 must register with an adult to participate). Teams download the GooseChase App to play, complete missions, and watch other teams during the 12 day game period.
