And of course pop for our young future fire fighters. Meet your new Fire Chief Steve De Chilles: Steve has just been hired as the new NTFD fire chief. He has been on the job less than three weeks. Come meet him and tell him what you think is important as he works to create your fire department. Volunteer to be a Fire Fighter: If you have ever considered becoming a volunteer fire fighter here is your chance. Borough Staff will be on hand to assist you in completing the application and will answer any of your questions. A volunteer fire department is nothing without volunteers. Meet the North Tongass Service Area Board: Come voice your concerns. Here is your opportunity to yell at someone for your increased taxes. The service area board is here to listen, and maybe yell back. Make your views known on what you want from your fire department. The service area board won't know unless you tell them. Don't be part of the SILENT majority, make your views known. Help the board develop an equitable system for funding your service area.
