The many students that have dropped out of school at various grade levels for various reasons should not be a license to stop being a parent/guardian/ or custodian of a school age child. I know there are many frustrated, confused, intimidated people in this community with the education system, the challenges outside of school and in many cases, at home. This is to attract people to be more bold and have more courage to want to be part of doing something about this ad. Many are eligible voters and they don't have a clue about the importance of their voice regarding any of the issues. Education is the most valuable part of one's development. You never stop learning. So you will see this ad in the Ketchikan Daily News in the very near future.
I would hope this group to be representative of the entire borough and be user friendly so that all participants will stay focused, belonging and supportive. I have no ideas yet. That will be the group's responsibility. If I get no response, the effort from me stops right here. If I get one response, we will try to make it grow and work. Please call. Thank you.
