I am by no means an expert on the field of invasive species, but it seems Ms Smithson is completely missing the point here.

Just a little research would reveal that it's a proven scientific fact that a lot of invasive species are harmful, although they are very pretty and not obnoxious at all. It's the underlying ecological damage they cause by not being in their natural habitat that makes them harmful.

Call me stupid, but I fail to see an underlying government conspiracy theory.
