JCAHO accreditation confirmed
August 03, 2005
Wednesday
Ketchikan, Alaska - As a result of the on-site survey conducted
in January by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health
Care Facilities (JCAHO) Ketchikan General Hospital has received
written notice officially granting it as "accredited for
all services" including Hospital, Home Health, and Long
Term Care. The accreditation is in effect until the end of 2008.
The voluntary JCAHO accreditation
process serves as a continuous standards compliance and operational
improvement tool for KGH. The survey identified a few minor
areas in which KGH must make follow-up adjustments by October.
The hospital's 2005 Quality
Report is available to the public and can be accessed through
the JCAHO website: www.jcaho.org Follow links titled "Quality
Check".
