How and Why?

I absolutely love the Viewpoints section of Sitnews!
You, unlike newspapers with political agendas on either side,
print the opinions and ideas of people from all over the world.
Like many of your regular readers I have learned more from your
letter to the editor contributors about how people of other national
origin and from differing political persuasions feel about issues
than from any other venue. You print letters as you get them
and thank you for doing so.
That said, can someone from the Muslim community, perhaps one
of your "Opinion contributors" I have seen published
in your pages from Saudi Arabia or perhaps an American Muslim,
please enlighten us. How can an obviously religious group of
people even contemplate the horror that was attempted in the
UK today? Today's abomination was apparently not the work of
a few nuts either. This was highly organized work by a religious
group. This was the work of religious adherents of a major religion
calling itself, "the Religion of Peace".
I have been on UK flights many times and the passengers are typically,
like London itself, very international in character; Black, African,
Muslim, Hindu, Middle Eastern, families on holiday with small
children, etc., fill those flights especially in the Summer.
How can a "Religion of Peace" organize dozens of its
adherents to murder all those innocent people?
Please, can someone explain? How can people who are "People
of the Book" who believe in the same Ten Commandments and
same "Golden Rule as religious Christians and Jews do this?
How and Why?
