Ban horse trolleys before cell phones
By Chris Tucker

I am writing this letter because I just cant help it any more but to speak up about these ridiculous horse trolleys we have on our streets! Everyday they impede traffic all over downtown all day long! These trolleys don't have blinkers, brake lights, taillights, or even a license plate, that everyone else is required to have!

My son was actually side-swiped by one of the trolleys a few weeks ago, because the driver couldn't see that the horses weren't as wide as his trolley & I'm sure my son is not the only one who's been hit by them.

Talking to people in the community about it, I have heard very disturbing things about the trolleys.

I am writing this because i would rather see the trolleys be banned than cell phone use in city limits!! C'mon this isn't the 1700-1800's!

Even the officers who respond to the accident when my son was swiped by the horse trolley can't believe the city lets them drive right through town like it's the 1700's. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way either. I've lived in Ketchikan & worked here my entire life & for the last 10 or 15 years driving through town in summer because of these trolleys impeding traffic is ridiculous to say the least!

Thank god for the 3rd Avenue bypass (the most expensive mile of road in the world!)
