These two Alaskan convoys joined more than 160 other convoys across the nation to protest the Commission on Presidential Debates' continued decision to silence the Libertarian Nominee for President of the United States, Dr. Jo Jorgensen, and all third parties who are listed on the presidential ballot.
The Commission on Presidential Debates' created polling restrictions to not allow third-parties in the debate by selecting random polls to determine who is polling above 15%. The catch? Most of these polls do not even mention a 3rd party candidate. "More than 4.5 million people voted for the Libertarian Presidential Candidate in 2016, and Dr. Jorgensen will be on the ballot in all 50 states," said Ketchikan resident Paul Robbins Jr., Interim Vice-Chair of the Alaska Libertarian Party. Robbins said, "Why does the CPD believe those millions of Americans don't deserve to be represented, and why shouldn't the tens of millions of independent and non-affiliated American voters hear the different ideas the Libertarian candidate has for this country?" Dr. Jo Jorgensen, a life member of the Libertarian Party, is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Clemson University. She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology (Clemson, 2002) and has taught full-time since 2006. She graduated in 1979 from Baylor University with a B.S. in Psychology and in 1980 from Southern Methodist University with an MBA. After earning her MBA, she put her education to work as a marketing representative for IBM. Relocating to Greenville, S.C. in 1983, she started her own software sales business. After taking a career sabbatical to raise her two children, she became a partner in a software duplication company, later taking over as president and sole owner. She founded a business consulting company in 2002 and continues working with select clients. Presidential Candidate Jo Jorgensen's running mate is Jeremy “Spike” Cohen. Cohen started a web design company in 1999. He retired from that 3 years ago to promote libertarian ideas fulltime. Quoting the Alaska Libertarian Party's website, "His great aim is to make people more familiar with voluntary solutions and property rights." He is the host of My Fellow Americans, the co-host of The Muddied Waters of Freedom, and the co-owner of Muddied Waters Media, a podcast platform that reaches millions.
