Division of Elections verifies Alaskans will see Libertarian ticket on the ballot in November

(SitNews) Anchorage, Alaska - The Alaska Division of Elections has certified limited party status for the Alaska Libertarian Party (ALP), ensuring the Libertarian presidential and vice-presidential ticket of Dr. Jo Jorgensen and Jeremy “Spike” Cohen will appear on the ballot for this November’s election. The ALP submitted 5,024 signatures to meet the requirement, far above the 3,212 required.
Libertarian House (District 16) candidate Scott Kohlhaas and Alaska Libertarian Party Membership Adam Schwemley drop off the signatures and limited party status application to the Alaska Division of Elections. |
“Our petitioners and those who stepped forward to sign the petitions have demonstrated their resolve to have the principles of individual choice, decentralized control, and voluntary self-government represented in this upcoming election,” said Jon Briggs Watts, Chair of the Alaska Libertarian Party.
On August 10, 2020, the Libertarian ticket was verified by the Maine Secretary of State. Because Maine was the last state to present a significant challenge to Libertarians’ ability to gain ballot access, the LP ticket is now expected, once again, to achieve 50-state ballot access, allowing every voter in America to cast their ballot for the Libertarian Jorgensen–Cohen ticket.
