Legislative Aide to Run for Ketchikan Gateway Borough Assembly September 08, 2004
Dick Coose was one of the first people hired by Senator Stedman following his appointment to the Senate in November 2003. "I wanted an experienced, knowledgeable person from Ketchikan on my staff and Dick was one of the first people that came to mind" remarked Stedman. "He brings a wealth of history and experience to the job; not just about Ketchikan, but about Southeast Alaska, the workings of local government and forestry issues in particular." "It was a lot of work but a real pleasure working with Senator Stedman's team in Juneau" said Coose. "Bert is open, honest and great to work with. He looks out for the people of this District and gets the State's legislative business done." "Dick understands the legislative process and is well respected and liked in Juneau. He made a significant contribution to this District over the last year. I'm sorry to see him go, but I appreciate and understand his interests. He will be a great asset to the Ketchikan Borough Assembly," Senator Stedman added. Senator Stedman will be filling Coose's legislative staff position with someone from Ketchikan. Interested individuals should contact his office at (907) 225-8088. Senator Stedman represents Senate District A, which includes the Southeast communities of Ketchikan, Sitka, Wrangell and Petersburg.
