Weakest and the poorest

Mr. Neckameyer, in regard to the
people trapped by floods in New Orleans, asks rhetorically, aren't
people ultimately responsible for themselves. In Mr. Neckameyer's
world I suppose the ultimate answer to that was made by those
who armed themselves and looted stores. However, what I and millions
of other Amercians saw on TV today were thousands of people who
could not care for themselves, the old, the feeble, children,
mothers struggling to cope and men who had no way of altering
their circumstances. Families who had no means of getting out
of the way of hurricane Katrina.
These are our brothers, Mr.
Neckameyer. I know what I am going to do about that, but you
will have to answer for yourself what you're going to do about
it. And be assured, every candidate that I vote for in the future
will be dedicated not to dismantling government, but to providing
a government that will care for the weakest and the poorest of
us.
