I Do Not Assert A Stigma
By Harold A. Maio
September 16, 2009
Wednesday
There is such a stigma regarding Mental Health. The sentence
actually reads, "I associate such a stigma."
It is the writer's statement.
May I share with you, both editors and the letter writer, I
do not.
It was a decision I made, like which tie to wear, or which street
to drive down. Or cream or lemon.
I simply decided I would not be among those people asserting
a "stigma," any "stigma." I would not be
the person someone could cite as asserting a "stigma."
I would not allow my words to be the foot note to someone's article
claiming a "stigma."
It was a simple decision, may you arrive at it as well.
