Editor Sitnews,

First blush reading the McDowell economic report brings to the fore front a burning challenge to the State of Alaska's economic position and potential. Actually the challenge is made to ALL States of this great Country.

As one reads the McDowell summation the scope of the input is rationalized around the continued Federal Governments control of Alaska as it is presently formulated. This concept looks forward with a stalled or stagnate forecast as a result of this continued Federal control.

States Rights. Pure and simple if the State of Alaska had complete control of all of its lands and resources contained within we would be in position to (1) Not require Federal Funding other than those authorized under the Constitution. (2) Allocate and develop resources to maximize employment. (3) Result of this development would add tremendous amount of investment funding to our Permanent Fund for increased rewards to citizens of Alaska(Resource) ownership. The high number of States ready to join Arizona in the Immigration debate, and finally in the large number of States pushing back against ObamaCare. All of these efforts contain States Rights components.

Alaska should have ownership of all land/resources from the top of the highest mountain to the three mile off shore limit. Alaska has the management, economic experts, readiness, willingness, to take on the challenge of taking over full management of its lands and resources, it just need the igniter to begin the push back of Federal Control. It is coming, there are so many indicators across the Country that reflect these same assets, once the flood begins we will return to our Constitutional roots.

Just saying,

Regards,
