VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE
IS APPROACHING
September 20, 2010
Monday
Do you need to register to vote? Have you moved? If you answered
yes, you have until Sunday, October 3, 2010 to register or update
your existing voter registration for the November 2nd General
Election.
Voters can register in person at any Division of Elections regional
office, at municipal clerk's offices, at the Division of Motor
Vehicles, village council offices and at many of the libraries.
Voters may also register by mail or fax. Registration applications
are available at www.elections.alaska.gov
Registration applications that are mailed must be postmarked
on or before October 3rd. If submitting the application by fax,
it must be received by October 3rd.
To ensure everybody has the opportunity to register in time for
the election, the Division of Elections will be open the weekend
of the registration deadline to assist voters. Division offices
will be open on Saturday, October 2nd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
and on Sunday, October 3rd from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
If you need to register or make a change to your registration,
don't wait. The Division of Elections encourages voters to register
or update their voter registration as soon as possible so that
it will be effective for the General Election. If a voter registers
or updates his or her registration after the deadline, the voter
will be required to vote a questioned ballot on Election Day.
Any voter who has questions about the registration process is
encouraged to contact one of the Division of Elections offices.
