RE: Let's prioritize wild Alaska salmon By Lois Morgan September 07, 2013
No, fishermen aren't more important than loggers. None is more important than another. What is important is that we each and all get the best deal out of our government. I grew up in northern California log camps during the forties and fifties. My dad had a wife, that meant that the single bucks came to our house to drink where it was warm and smelled of food. One evening I heard a gnarly old guy raise his voice above the general roar, he said, "Well, ya know the bastards aren't going to stop till they cut the last f---ing tree." He was a logger. He was right. 'They' don't care about loggers or fishermen. 'They' care about the almighty buck. We need to protect and wisely use our natural environment. Sincerely, Lois Morgan
