My name is Arick Mattson from Boy Scout Troop 22. Do you remember what it was like at the attacks on the Twin Towers? How old were you on 9/11/01? Where were you on September 11th? What was your reaction then?

I was one year old at my grandparents' house in Idaho. My grandfather ran downstairs and loudly told my mother to turn on the TV. He said the U.S. had been attacked. Why would that attack then matter today, when thousands of soldiers are dying in current wars?

I think we remember because on September 11th, thousands of innocent residents died because of a cowardly attack. This reminds us that as a nation we will stand firm, and not go down without a fight. This gives us a sense that we will fight for our country no matter what, regardless of age or race.
