Pro Walker & Mallott By Ann Graham Radford September 15, 2014
I have lived in Alaska for 58 years and have seen many changes. I have always been a staunch, rather conservative Republican so it is no surprise that people are asking me if I still support Bill Walker for governor with the change of his running mate. I trust Bill - he is a man of integrity and principle. Bill and Donna Walker share my Christian faith and values. In addition, I have come to know Bill as a man who is passionate about what is best for Alaska and who has the vision and expertise to restore Alaska to her best days when we were strong and bold. Yes, Bill and Mr. Mallott have differences, but the things they agree on are putting our resources to use, stopping the deficit spending, providing low cost energy for Alaskans and creating jobs. This election gives Bill the opportunity to put his expertise to work for us. We know the Republican candidate’s record for the past six years and it has not gotten us where we, as Alaskans, want to be. Our State revenues are continuing to decline; we are using our savings at a rate of seven million dollars per day with no projections to reverse that. When you think of the alternative, the Walker / Mallott ticket is definitely our best hope. Former governors, Republican Wally Hickel and Democrat Bill Egan, worked together to produce a gas pipeline plan and even obtained approval for all the needed permits. Unfortunately, that gas line is still not built. That is the kind of teamwork we need again to achieve the great task of turning around our State economy. It is time to elect a Governor who is capable and confident in his leadership; someone who will work assertively to expedite developing our natural resources while protecting the environment, and help bring back the Alaska which will keep our children and grandchildren here, working in good jobs and thriving in our unique and wonderful State. I am voting for the independent team of Walker and Mallott in November. I hope you will too. Ann Graham Radford Received September 13, 2014 - Published September 15, 2014
