Alaska first! It’s time. By Anne Lucas September 27, 2014
The Bill Walker and Byron Mallott Unity Campaign needs people who are willing to work together and close the gaps between party lines - people who want to put Alaska first. This is an exciting, historic time for Alaska. Party lines are blended – sharp edges of partisanship are softened, and the door is open for compromise. Walker and Mallott took the best from each party platform to form a united merger. They quote Gov. Wally Hickel’s reflection, “During the early days of Alaska, it wasn’t them and us. It was all of us.” Win or lose (and I do hope it is “win”), we can set an example of non-partisan campaigning and governing. Think not what is good for the Republican Party or the Democrat Party, but what is good for Alaskans. Join me in learning more about the new Walker/Mallott Team. Check out their website at http://www.walkerforalaska.com/ . Plan to attend the October 1st event, starting at 4:30 p.m. in the Plaza Mall, for a good, old fashioned, family gathering. A Town Hall Meeting follows, when you can share your ideas with Bill and let your concerns be known. Alaska first! It’s time.
