Brown Mountain Road Landslide

(SitNews) Ketchikan, Alaska - A landslide occurred on the Ketchikan Misty Fjords Ranger District Brown Mountain Road (Forest Road 8005100) on Saturday, September 21. The slide starts immediately below the road about a quarter mile before the Dude Mountain trailhead.
According to the Forest Service the road is still passable but use caution or avoid the area. More evaluation and possible culvert installation is planned. A news release will announce if the road is closed for repairs.
