Coast Guard tows fishing vessel
Huntress
October 23, 2003
Thursday - 12:45 am
Ketchikan, Alaska - The Coast Guard received notification that
the fishing vessel Huntress was disabled adrift on the east side
of Pennock Island in the Tongass Narrows in Southeastern Alaska
at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday.
The Huntress was participating
in the Southeast shrimp fishery when their engines cut out. The
crew of the Huntress suspects the problem was likely caused by
contaminated fuel.
Ten minutes after the call
was received Coast Guard Station Ketchikan launched their 47-foot
rescue boat and crew to tow the 38-foot boat to the Anderes fuel
pier in Ketchikan.
