Retort: No Bridge

Mr. Mike McColley, use your head. How stupid do you think we
taxpayers are? Local property taxes are not going to pay for
the proposed boon-doggle bridge to Gravina Island via Pennock
Island, Alaska. Mr. McColley wants U.S. tax payers to build
him and few other people a $240 million dollar bridge to their
properties on Pennock Island.
As a Federal Taxpayer, I don't have to live in Ketchikan, Alaska
to express my opinion on pork barrel spending on a bridge that
only benefits a few when the National debt and spending are out
of control in the United States. I would rather spend my tax
dollars grants for education and supporting our U.S. troops in
Iraq.
Most people that bought properties on Pennock Island and Gravina
Island for some quite solitude and privacy.
In closing Mr. McColley, I am not only a Federal taxpayer. I
am indigenous to Ketchikan and surrounding lands. Pennock Island
is a active Tribal grave site that I want to protect from further
desecration and exploitation. I don't understand why some people
want to build homes and roads over Indian graves in the first
place, knowing that graves are there.
Mike, you take a nap and quit
trying to bully people around. This is my opinion.
