Boarded Windows
October 09, 2004
Saturday
Ketchikan, Alaska - Bobbi McCreary, M.J.Turek, and Charlotte
Tanner were busy Friday painting a background on the plywood
that covers the windows of the Diamond's International Building
in downtown Ketchikan. At the end of the busy tourist season,
seasonal businesses board up their windows as they close down
until next spring. In an effort to turn uninspiring boarded up
windows into something more appealing that everyone can enjoy,
Project Ketchikan was created by Bobbie McCreary, M.J. Turek
and other interested locals in 2003.

Project Ketchikan is sponsored again this year by the Ketchikan
Area Arts and Humanities Council and Historic Ketchikan.
Paint and supplies for the project were generously donated by
Diamond's International and Talbott's.
Project Coordinator Bobbie
McCreary invites those interested to come out and join in the
fun painting the boarded windows of the Diamond's International
Building at the corner of Front and Mill on Sunday, October 10th
from 10 am - 3 pm. She said no artistic ability is required.
The theme this year is Flora
and Fauna.
