Borough to hand over keys to new Trooper building

Ketchikan, Alaska - The Ketchikan Gateway Borough has completed the sale of the former Gateway Club building to the State of Alaska for use as the new Headquarters of the Alaska State Troopers Detachment A, which serves all of Southeast Alaska.

Borough Mayor Mike Salazar will hand over the keys to State Commissioner of Public Safety Bill Tandeske during a brief ceremony scheduled for 12:30 pm Monday, November 1st. Mayor Salazar thanked Governor Murkowski, Commissioner Tandeske, the Borough Assembly and former Ketchikan Assembly member and former State Commissioner of Public Safety Dick Burton for their support in seeing this project through to fruition.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony which will take place at 7366 North Tongass Highway, the location of the Troopers' new headquarters.
