The money I am sure will be used for far more important projects than a bridge to Gravina Island. (So what if you get wet). "You live in Ketchikan" I bet next you would want the jets to land in your driveway so you won't have to drive over the bridge to get to the airport. The Borough ferry employs many people who count on their jobs to live in Ketchikan and raise their families -- has anyone thought about them...? I lived on Gravina Island, I had to take a boat back and forth everyday to take my kids to school and to get my wife and myself to work. It was something I enjoyed doing, that was my choice. In all the years I lived in
Ketchikan I rarely saw the airport ferry not be able to get people
to the airport. Besides, that's the price you pay when you choose
to live on an island in Southeast Alaska. About: 35 year resident of Alaska -- 25 of those years in Ketchikan Received October 11, 2007 - Published October 11, 2007
