Vote for Dan Sullivan By Chris J. Herby October 09, 2014
Lately it sure has been obvious that it is election season in Alaska. I think it is exciting to see what an important role Alaskan politics actually plays in Washington DC. Our race for U.S. Senator is certainly getting a lot of attention as well as lots of advertising funded by outside interests. I must weigh in with a few comments of my own. It is without a doubt in Alaska’s best interest to get Mark Begich out of Washington. I don’t believe Mark has done a terrible job during his term, but I do believe he has been a rubber stamp for most of Obama’s policies. I often hear Alaskans expressing frustration over Washington politicians being too polarized and not being able to work with the other party to get the job done. I too feel the same way. What does it say for our state if we can’t even send a united delegation to Washington? We need to elect a senator that can work well with Lisa Murkowski to get the job done and look after Alaska’s best interests. We need to elect Dan Sullivan to the U.S. Senate. If we elect Begich to another term, we are wasting 50% of our senate representation in Washington. We need to send a team that can do what’s best for Alaska, and that team is Sullivan and Murkowski. I hope voters can remember 6 years ago when Begich was only elected when our long serving senator, Ted Stevens was wrongly accused of ethics violations or something on those lines. At any rate, it was later exposed as a “witchhunt” by outside interests with the sole purpose of putting a Democrat in the senate. It worked and we got Begich. It is time for him to go. Let’s unite in our state and send a senator to Washington that can join our other senator in fighting for Alaska. Begich voted for Obamacare which most Alaskans opposed and which has now caused our health insurance rates to skyrocket. Please vote for Dan Sullivan. Sincerely, Chris J.
