One Person Makes a Difference: In 1986 I took Ketchikan High School business class learning about the stock market and investing. I joined the Air force in the winter of 1987 and following the lessons learned in my business class I invested in stocks. After finishing my service I was able to use the money I had invested to help buy a home and start my path towards the American dream. The man who taught me and encouraged me was/is Dan Ortiz.
In 1987 as a senior I chose to go out and drink alcohol. When confronted with my poor choice the person that I found the most the most difficult to tell was my track coach. I was kicked off the team and learned a valuable lesson about following rules and the consequences of my actions. My coach was Dan Ortiz.
In 2000 my growing family returned to Ketchikan and looked around at other parents/families we could emulate. In our church we found a couple with 3 older children. The couple seemed to always be volunteering, encouraging and deeply engaged in our community. Their children were well manner and focused. Those parents were Dan and Lori Ortiz.
If you believe in hard work, community service and strong family values then join us in voting for Dan Ortiz.
