Negative CampaigningBy Bob Sivertsen October 23, 2016
I have not communicated with any political action committee or any of their representatives; in fact, to do so is illegal. They absolutely did not contact me in regards to their campaign, and unfortunately I was as surprised by their mailers as were many of you. To be clear, per the electoral rules I may have no contact with or control over what an independent PAC does, nor would Dan—and that includes their choice of name and campaign tactics. Today PAC organizations that are outside of our district (“outside money”) are spending funds on behalf of both Dan and me; for better or worse, that is what it is. I would again make it clear that I don’t support or engage in negative campaigning. I am the Bob Sivertsen this community has always known, and I will continue to show respect for my opponent even as I ask you for your vote. To Representative Ortiz and your family where I have no responsibility I know how negative comments would effect my family. I would like to express my apologies if you think any of it was generated by me, which I assure you it was not. Thank you, Bob Sivertsen Received October 20, 2016 - Published October 23, 2016
