Alaska General Voter Registration Deadline is Sunday, October 7, 2018
October 05, 2018
The State of Alaska Division of Elections (DOE) reminds eligible Alaska voters to make sure they are registered to vote and their information is up to date in time for the upcoming November 6 General Election. The deadline to register to vote or update registration is 11:59 p.m. Sunday, October 7. DOE regional offices will be open for voter registration on Saturday October 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Offices will also be open for voter registration on October 7 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Voters may register or update their registration using the online voter registration system at any time before the registration deadline by visiting the DOE website and completing this option. Anyone planning to mail an application needs to have it postmarked on or before October 7. The Alaska Division of Elections encourages Alaska voters to register or update their information as soon as they can and not to wait until the last day. “We hope Alaskans will take advantage of this opportunity to make their opinions count at the polls,” said State Elections Director Josie Bahnke. “Even if you are already registered to vote, it never hurts to take another look to make sure your registration information is current.” While state elections will be conducted under a precinct-based system, DOE reminds voters that anyone interested in receiving a ballot in the mail to apply by October 27 to vote using this method for the November 6 General Election.
