New Trooper Headquarter's
Key Handed Over

Ketchikan, Alaska - Borough Mayor Mike Salazar handed over the
keys to the new headquarter's building of the Alaska State Troopers
Detachment A to State Commissioner of Public Safety Bill Tandeske
during a brief ceremony Monday. Mayor
Salazar thanked Governor Murkowski, Commissioner of the Department
of Public Safety Bill Tandeske, the Borough Assembly and former
Ketchikan Assembly member and former State Commissioner of Public
Safety Dick Burton for their help and support in seeing this
project through to fruition.

The Ketchikan Gateway Borough recently completed the sale of
the former Gateway Club building at 7366 North Tongass Highway
to the State of Alaska for use as the new Headquarters of the
Alaska State Troopers Detachment A, which serves all of Southeast
Alaska.
The brief ceremony was attended
by approximately a dozen people including Richard Burton and
State Troopers and staff.
