Wal-Mart and Coast Guard Spouse's
Association
of Ketchikan Team Up to Fulfill Wishes
November 30, 2004
Tuesday
Ketchikan, Alaska - The Coast Guard Spouse's Association of Ketchikan
is again teaming up with Wal-Mart and WISH to ensure a merry
Christmas for many needy Ketchikan families. The Coast Guard
Spouse's Association has placed a decorated tree in Wal-Mart
where people can select families or individuals for whom to buy
gifts. WISH (Women In Safe Homes) has provided the information
for families in need.
Saturday the Coast Guard Spouse's
Association of Ketchikan set up the WISH treet at Wal-Mart and
decorated the cart where donated items can be dropped off. Donated
items will be accepted starting November 27th through Dec 23rd.
Pictured are members
of the Coast Guard Spouse's Association of Ketchikan who donated
their time and effort to set up the WISH tree on November 27th.
The WISH tree is pictured in the background.
This is the 2nd year for the Coast Guard Spouse's Association
of Ketchikan and Wal-Mart to work together helping WISH families
have a happy holiday. According to Shana Nielsen of the Coast
Guard Spouse's Accociation, last year's efforts were a great
success and many WISH families were overwhelmed by the generosity
of Ketchikan.
To make donations simply select
a numbered ornament from the WISH tree and make purchases according
to the information on the ornament. Items can be dropped off
after purchase in the decorated cart next to the Wal-Mart Customer
Service Center.
