The polls shows Governor Murkowski to be the nation's second most unpopular governor, topped only by Ohio Republican Gov. Robert Taft. It is my opinion that the polls are being too nice, I think Gov. Murkowski is the most unpopular governor ever in the nation and Alaska's history. Critics say Murkowski's jet is unusable in much of rural Alaska, where runways are too short and made of gravel or nonexistent. The $2.6 million dollar Westwind aircraft, equipped with a leather sofa, burgundy carpeting and a must have flush toilet. Is the governor too good for us common people to even fly on the new "Salmon Thirty Salmon" jet? The governor's record speaks for itself; taking away the Seniors' Longevity Fund, tapping the Alaska Permanent Fund, trying to open ANWR for oil and gas and wanting a $315 million dollar bridge to "No-where" in Ketchikan. I know I am forgetting something. How much more can Alaskan electors take? We thought Democrat's spend money - Republicans are the worst wasters of spending tax dollars ever. In closing, I am embarrassed to say Governor Murkowski is from my village of Ketchikan. This is my own opinion. Don Hoff Jr.
