Friday night my mom and I braved the dark, cold, wet, windy night with my grandson and my great neice to enjoy the Haunted Town right here in downtown Ketchikan. I was surprised to see all of the families out with all the little kids dressed up in their awesome Halloween costumes. We attended a mini carnival at the Salvation Army and the Salmon Landing, stopped in and picked up treats from several other locations and ended our night at the Discovery Center for the Haunted House. All of it was awesome... Saturday we attended, with 100's of others, the Senior Carnival and even went down to the mall and were able to see all the Super Heros, both were very fun events. Halloween, we put on several layers under, and on top of costumes and took the kids out trick or treating.... We had little ones with us, so we only braved the Trunk or Treat event, but we had a good time. We were dry, but the wind was howling through there chilling everyone to the bone. On my drive home, I took a ride through Ketchikan and saw many many people out trick or treating in the pouring down rain and wind. Jackson Street, as usual was closed off and many kids were running around, spirits not dampened, their outer layers just a little drippy. Ketchikan was out in full force this weekend and a great time was had by all. I wanted to take the time to say a big thank you, to all the volunteers who made our weekend so wonderful. I love living in this town, I've been here my whole life and it's amazing for me to see how Ketchikan adapts and evolves every year to make this such a great place to live. Thanks Ketchikan, from my entire family Rhonda Ball
