Ketchikan Rain Gauge

I so agree with Sheri, What are these people thinking!! $96,000 for a rain gauge... You have got to be kidding me, Not to mention the $6,000 + they already paid some one to say we should hire outside the state, Really!!
What about a local artist or the Children of this community, I bet we could build 100 gauges for that kind of money, why not use it to give the rest of main steet a face lift, or add a bigger homeless shelter.
Seems to me they just want to attract more tourists, I don't think a rain gauge is on the top of their list of attractions.
Simply disgusted
