Editor Sitnews,
This letter to your fine publication may come too late to post prior to the election, however, the content of the reason was only recently coming to my attention. Having read an earlier letter of support for Senator Begich regarding his supposed stance as a pro-gun advocate supported by a NRA rating I had been snookered, It was believing that Senator Begich, a life long Alaskan would never be guilty of subterfuge on the subject of the second amendment. The actions taken by the Senator in his recent voting record reflects Senator Begich has supported this socialistic Democrat President with 86.1% in Senate votes including the votes reflected below.
Tragic his voting in support of Obama over the 2nd Amendment.
Regards,
Al Johnson

Excerpts from National Association of Gun Rights:
When Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) went out looking for votes to whip up for gun control, he found Mark Begich.
That's right, Mark Begich was instrumental to the efforts to pass Obama's gun control agenda.
- Senator Begich voted for Senator Leahy's proposal to put ordinary gun sellers on par with drug dealers and gang members.1
- Senator Begich voted to kill Senator Rand Paul's amendment to overturn the gun ban at US post offices2
- It shouldn't be a complete surprise, because Senator Begich also voted to confirm rabidly anti-gun Supreme Court justices Elena Kagan 3 and Sonia Sotomayor 4 during Barack Obama's first term in office.
- Senator Begich also voted to confirm gun-grabber B. Todd Jones5, director of the notoriously anti-gun Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms.
No thanks to Mark Begich who voted for increased gun control, and would have almost certainly voted for even more and will if re-elected.
Just last month Mark Begich voted TWICE for a Constitutional Amendment to limit the rights of gun owners to organize against anti-gun politicians.5
