Vote for Parnell By Wynn Hopkins November 01, 2014
Governor Parnell reconfigured Sarah Palin s punitive oil tax structure to one which is now working to increase production and jobs. BP has increased Alaska 2014 capital spending by 25%, including a 40% increase in new drilling and other production activities. The number of working rigs on the North Slope reached an all-time high in February, and for the first time since 2002 there was no annual production decline this past fiscal year. The Institute of Social and Economic Research confirms SB 21 brings in new jobs and revenue to the state. Whether oil prices fall or rise, Parnell s plan creates more revenue than ACES because of a higher base tax rate. This isn t rocket science. Washington State decided to teach that evil Boeing Company a lesson and upped Boeing s taxes oops Boeing moved to South Carolina! Observe the lessons of Burger King, New York, and Tesla in which companies and taxpayers relocated when the tax burden became too oppressive. The oil companies were holding back in Alaska until Governor Parnell courageously moved to encourage production once again through SB21. He has done the same with the gas pipeline, choosing carefully the very best situation to ensure success for years to come. Parnell has reduced spending by $2.1 billion while greatly increasing revenue, with wise and responsible trimming continuing. With Parnell s leadership, the state achieved an AAA credit rating, saving Alaskans millions of dollars of interest on bonds. With Governor Parnell we have real progress, not political posturing and empty promises that change from town to town and debate to debate. Governor Parnell is the only candidate endorsed on all criteria by the Faith and Freedom Coalition. Walker earned all thumbs-down except for Abortion-on-Demand, in which his response was Unclear. Please join me in re-electing Governor Parnell he got it right and will continue to do so. Wynn Hopkins About: Longtime resident Received October 29, 2014 - Published November 01, 2014
