December 16, 2003
Tuesday - 1:15 am

The M/V Prince of Wales will be out of service January 5th though January 11th for its semi-annual hull inspection and maintenance at Alaska Ship and Drydock in Ketchikan, according to Inter-Island Ferry Authority operations manager Stuart Vincent. It is planned that the M/V Prince of Wales will resume daily service between Hollis and Ketchikan on January 12th and service between Ketchikan and Metlakatla every Friday and Saturday on January 16th, said Vincent.

The Alaska Marine Highway System will provide some alternate service between Hollis and Ketchikan during the dry-docking of the M/V Prince of Wales by re-routing two of its ships. The M/V Aurora will depart Wrangell at 7:30 am on January 6th for Hollis; departing Hollis at 2:30 pm, arriving in Ketchikan at 5:15 pm. The Aurora will leave Ketchikan at 6:15 pm for Metlakatla on its published schedule. On January 10th the M/V Taku will depart Wrangell at 4:30 pm for Prince of Wales Island, departing Hollis at 11:30 pm, arriving Ketchikan at 2:15 am on January 11th. The Taku will sail for Prince Rupert at 3:15 am, 3 hours and 45 minutes behind its published schedule.

For information and reservations on the M/V Aurora and M/V Taku go to the AMHS website at www.ferryalaska.com, or call toll-free 800-642-0066.
