As the Holiday Season fast approaches, the Board of Directors of the Ketchikan Homeless Shelter asks that you keep the Shelter in mind if you are deciding where to make a charitable, tax-deductible donation. We are sincerely grateful to the community for your great response to our November food drive. However, the Shelter has a budget that has tightened considerably over the past few years due to increasing operational costs (heating oil, insurance etc.) and unfortunately a decrease in contributions. Our budget has no fat in it that can be trimmed. We currently do not have sufficient funds to pay our creditors for the month of December much less continue to pay our manager's wages (which are just above current minimum wage). We are desperately seeking financial assistance in the interim before our yearly grant is available in early February (assuming it is a part of the final City budget). The Ketchikan Homeless Shelter is making this plea for cash donations so that we may continue to operate between now and February. We need the financial support of this community or the Shelter may have to close its doors. Our facility has provided safe shelter and resources for many years to those in need. The continued operation of the Ketchikan Homeless Shelter is a cost effective way for us as a community to help those who are less fortunate. If you can, please support the Shelter with a donation. Donations can be mailed to:
