Holiday is much more...
By Floyd Crocker

December 21, 2005
Wednesday PM

What is wrong with holiday? It is generic. It is one size fits all. It is non specific and vague.

In my dictionary, holiday is much more, a day fixed by law or custom on which ordinary business is suspended in commemoration of an event or to honor a person, Any day of exemption from work, a period of exemption from burden, a vacation and a religious festival or holy day.

There are many holidays throughout the year, both public and private, which one are you referring to or are you just lumping them all together for convenience?

Merry Christmas
