Thank you to those who serve

On this 7th day of December that was called the Day of Infamy when Pearl Harbor was bombed by the Japanese, I wish to thank those who served and who do serve in the U.S. Military.

My own father was in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII. My husband is a Vietnam era vet. My grandfather died as a result of mustard gas in WWI. I have had family serving in every war in which the US has participated since the Revolutionary War that freed us from the tyranny of King George.

I am humbled by those who are willing to put their lives on the line for the freedom of others.

If any soldiers serving in the middle east read this letter, I thank you for your service. You are doing a good thing in attempting to bring freedom and democracy to a part of the world that has never had it.

I laud your efforts.

My prayers and respect go with you.
