Let's Move!

Monday AM
The cold weather, dark evenings, slick roads and frosty sidewalks
are forcing us indoors. But that doesn't mean we should quit
moving. There are plenty of indoor activities that are just
as enjoyable and beneficial as a brisk walk.
Our community has a Parks and Recreation Center that offers fitness
classes five days a week, ranging from 5:45am to 5:30pm. Whether
you want to tone up, strengthen up, lighten up, loosen up or
just have fun, the Rec Center is there for you. Check out the
new brochure, either online, or pick one up at the Rec Center.
So, why should you exercise? Let me mention a FEW of the benefits.
Exercise decreases risk of heart attack and diabetes, improves
circulation, protects against some cancers, builds muscle tone,
improves coordination, reduces stress, lessens love handles,
lowers blood sugar, lifts mood, lowers blood pressure, improves
flexibility, bolsters immune system, maintains strong bones and
joints, boosts self-esteem and IT''S FUN. Plus taking a class
expands your circle of friends.
So, there you have them - SOME reasons to get off the couch this
winter. Keep them in mind and remember them if you find yourself
making all sorts of excuses for not exercising.
