Dr. Radzilowski is the author of several books and numerous articles on the history of immigrants from Poland and many other countries, as well as the history of Eastern Europe. His publications reflect his research on the immigrant experience from family life, demography, crime, work, community organizations, participation in the labor movement, to the importance of religious faith. He is currently serving as the general editor for the second edition of the Encyclopedia of American Immigration (due to be published in 2010). Dr. Radzilowski joined the faculty at UAS-Ketchikan in Fall 2007. He teaches history and geography courses, both lower and upper division electives. In the spring he will teach classes in U.S. History, World History, the History of Russia, and the History of Alaska. The Mieczyslaw Haiman award will be presented to Dr. Radzilowski at PAHA's annual meeting, January 3, 2009, in New York City. PAHA, founded in 1942, is an affiliated society of the American Historical Association, the largest organization of professional historians in the United States. The University of Alaska Southeast Ketchikan campus provides a wide variety of educational courses and programs to Ketchikan and the surrounding communities throughout the year. Courses and programs are available locally and distance, including web-based and audio-conference classes. Through these offerings, students can achieve certifications, associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees. UAS is an AA/EO employer and educational institution.
