KIC Annual Elections In January
December 28, 2011
Of particular interest to KIC members is voter registration. KIC General Manager, Debbie Patton, encourages members to register to vote before the deadline Friday December 30th at Noon. She also suggests that KIC members check their registration status. New voter registration cards were produced earlier this year. Many members have not picked up their new voter I.D. cards which are available on the 5th floor of KIC's headquarters. Members are asked to do so and at the same time double check their registration status. Those members needing an absentee ballot may request an absentee ballot in writing as late as seven days before Election Day or in person any day except for the day of voting. Those qualified voters that are homebound may have a personal representative apply for an absentee ballot. The application must be signed by the applicant with a letter from a licensed physician or statement signed by two qualified voters stating the applicant is physically unable to attend the polls. Absentee ballots are also available for non-resident qualified voters. Those ballots will only be sent to full time students and active-duty military. A qualified voter is any KIC member who is registered to vote that resides in the Ketchikan Gateway Borough, excluding Saxman residents. KIC voting will take place at the Plaza Mall on Monday January 16th between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Every Vote Counts! Registration deadline is 5 PM December 30th. Download the voter registration form (pdf). Return the form to KIC by December 30th.
